The Executive Committee, chaired by Nick Thomas-Symonds MP, have organised the Bevan Society’s Annual Lecture. This is going to be held on Tuesday 17 October in the Houses of Parliament. The lecture will be given by Professor John Bew  who is a Professor in History and Foreign Policy at King’s College London. He was awarded both the Orwell Prize for Political Writing and the Elizabeth Longford prize for Historical Biography.

Mr Thomas-Symonds MP said “I am very glad that we were able to secure Professor John Bew for this years lecture. He has vast knowledge of Clement Attlee and the role of Nye Bevan played in the creation of the National Health Service. This event should prove to be an engaging and enlightening insight into the life of Attlee, particularly with eve of the 70th Anniversary of the National  Health Service coming up next year. I do look forward to welcoming you to the lecture”.

If you would like to attend the lecture then please see the invitation which is on this page which gives more detail of the event.
