Local MP Nick Thomas-Symonds MP has criticised the Government’s choice to delay the Brexit vote in the Chamber and the threat this poses to triggering an accidental, chaotic no-deal. Mr Thomas-Symonds raised the issue when responding to an Urgent Question submitted by Yvette Cooper MP on the Government’s obligations according to the European Union (Withdrawal) Act (2018).

Mr. Thomas-Symonds stated:

“The Prime Minister’s decision to postpone the Brexit vote was made in a panicked haste without thinking through the economic, political and constitutional implications for our country.”
