This Friday Nick Thomas-Symonds opened the first ever Torfaen Business Expo at the Congress Theatre in Cwmbran hosted by The Best of Torfaen.

Nearly forty local businesses attended the event which gave them the opportunity to take centre stage and showcase their ideas, innovations and business practices. Nick Thomas-Symonds was able to speak to business owners and employees from businesses as diverse as accountancy services to a sweet shop.

The Best of Torfaen aims to take the stress out of finding fantastic nearby businesses and describes itself as a ‘hub for everything local’ where you can find the best organisations as recommended by local people. Their website also gives people access to the best offers from those businesses, keeps them up to date with what’s happening in the area and encourages them to have their say on the things that matter.

The Best of started life in 2005 and over that time has grown into a household name. They have coverage in 300 areas across the UK, showcasing and supporting over 30,000 businesses and are proud to be ‘local’ as every area is run and owned independently by a local person.

Mr Thomas-Symonds said, ‘The Best of Torfaen business exhibition is a great opportunity to showcase and appreciate the fantastic businesses we have in Torfaen. Local businesses are the life-blood of our economy and the heart of our local communities. It is vital that we continue to support these local businesses as it is crucial to keeping money in our communities.’
