Yesterday Torfaen MP Nick Thomas-Symonds awarded the prize for ‘Best Dressed Teddy’ in Blaenavon.

The Teddy Bears’ Picnic event at Blaenavon World Heritage Centre on Sunday featured activities, games and even a disco. However the main event was the prizegiving for the best dressed teddy, presented by Nick Thomas-Symonds and Councillor Alan Jones.

The Blaenavon World Heritage Centre provides a world class learning resource to help people to appreciate the Outstanding Universal Value of the Blaenavon Landscape World Heritage Site. It explores the science, technology and engineering behind the story of Blaenavon’s Industrial Landscape, through both formal and informal education.

The Centre does an excellent job in inspiring people to relate to their place in global culture through the many different learning opportunities provided.

Mr Thomas-Symonds said, ‘I had a fantastic afternoon at the Teddy Bears’ Picnic at Blaenavon World Heritage Centre. There were over 40 entries for the ‘Best Dressed Teddy’ competition. Councillor Alan Jones and I were very proud to present the prizes- the effort put in was just incredible.’
