Torfaen MP Nick Thomas-Symonds was one of over 200 Members of Parliament who came together to thank Macmillan’s Cancer Nurses.

At the event Mr Thomas-Symonds MP spoke with Macmillan professionals and heard about the concerns of people living with cancer, which showed the invaluable job specialist cancer nurses do in supporting people through their illness: from diagnosis, to treatment, and beyond.

The Macmillan event on 8th September allowed the Torfaen MP to show support and solidarity with the specialist cancer nurses who do so much to help the growing population of those living with cancer, which is set to rise to 4 million by 2030.

In support of the Macmillan campaign, Nick Thomas-Symonds MP said: ‘I was delighted to join Macmillan at their World’s Biggest Coffee Morning reception in Parliament to express my support for specialist cancer nurses. I would like to thank them for the incredible work they do day in day out helping those who are living with cancer.

Throughout my time in Parliament, I have campaigned to improve treatments and services for cancer patients. One of the proudest moments in Parliament was successfully changing legislation on off-patent drugs, so those living with cancer across the UK have access to cheap, potentially life-saving drugs for conditions such as breast cancer.’
