Small Business Saturday is taking place on 5th December this year, and Torfaen Member of Parliament, Nick Thomas-Symonds, has marked the annual event by visiting local business owners in Pontypool Indoor Market.
Small Business Saturday is celebrated on the first Saturday of December every year, and it gives people the opportunity to promote and support the invaluable small businesses in our area. The goal of the day is to provide a long-lasting positive impact on the small businesses that are often the bedrock of our communities and create crucial jobs for people in Torfaen.
On visiting the market, the Torfaen MP said: “I was delighted to celebrate Small Business Saturday this year by visiting the traders in Pontypool Indoor Market, and to discuss with them how we can help the small business sector here in Torfaen.”
“During these difficult times, small businesses need our support more than ever. In Torfaen, we are lucky enough to have nearly 2000 small businesses up and down the borough that provide jobs, skills, and vital services to the area. I would encourage all Torfaen residents over the Christmas period to shop local and support our small businesses as much as possible.”
