Torfaen MP Nick Thomas-Symonds visited Poland last week (Monday 7th April) to see firsthand the work the Polish Government are doing to combat illegal migration across the Poland-Belarus border.
The visit to Poland was as part of the Cabinet Office Minister’s work to strengthen the UK’s strategic alliance with the EU, to deepen ties with Poland as a close ally, and to ensure the continent’s safety and security.
On the visit, the Torfaen MP reiterated his commitment to ensuring the UK’s law enforcement agencies have the best possible access to the tools they need to keep the UK safe, which includes better coordination with European allies to smash the gangs behind the small boat arrivals.
Nick Thomas-Symonds MP said: “Securing the UK’s borders is a key issue that I am working with my colleagues across Government to deliver.
This visit to Poland was crucial to deepening our ties with one of our longest standing allies, and to continue strengthening our cooperation with Europe on defence.
That’s why we are developing our strategic alliance with the EU, to smash the vile people-smuggling gangs that are responsible for the small boat arrivals.
Working together, we can deliver.”
